HOLIDAY TIPS FOR YOU AND YOUR HOME
As the warmer weather arrives and the kids have time off school, more and more of us will be travelling to holiday destinations in Europe and leaving our homes empty. CPS Estates have teamed up with the Modern Language School to share tips to improve your European Language skills and look after your home whilst you're away.
Language tips are available to download here:

How to keep your home safe whilst you are away
LEAVE YOUR HOME LOOKING OCCUPIED
Cancel delivery of milk and newspapers
Get your neighbour to put your bins out, but then put them back
Water your plants
Have a lamp or light on a timer in the house to come on at dusk and go off at bedtime
If you are away for a while, ask a neighbour or friend to move your post from behind your door.
CHECK YOUR INSURANCE
Make sure your household policy covers you if you are away for more than a couple of weeks
Check holiday insurance and make sure you are covered for your valuables that you are taking with you
Turn off you water at home, especially in winter, as you might not be covered for burst pipes if your water is left on.
KEEP YOUR TRIP TO YOURSELF
Don't make it public on social media that you and your family will be away
Be mindful when talking in public about your trip, you never know who's listening.
OTHER THINGS
Get a house sitter or friend to stay at your house whilst you are away
Keep valuables out of sight, but don't hide them in obvious places
Leave something for thieves in obvious places to distract burglars from any real treasure
HAVE A GREAT HOLIDAY….
